Love is blind
Description
This artwork is a triptych where the central theme of a heart is spread across three panels. The heart is stylized and abstract, with its curves sweeping dynamically across the boundaries of the individual canvases.
The heart’s contours are outlined in a bold red, with softer shades inside that create a sense of depth and volume. Surrounding the heart are fluid red and yellow brushstrokes that fan outward into the background, which transitions from a pale yellow at the edges to a white center. These brushstrokes give the impression of the heart pulsating with energy or perhaps being caught in a swirling motion, evoking a sense of passion and movement.
The division of the image into three parts may suggest different aspects or stages of love, or it could be interpreted as love extending and connecting through space. The artwork’s vivid colors and the blending technique used to merge the strokes convey warmth and intensity.
The painting’s title, “amouraveugle” (blind love), could imply that love is all-encompassing, overwhelming, and often not seen but felt, a concept that is mirrored in the enveloping swirls and vibrant hues of the composition.
